Haven SMP FAQ
Answers to the questions new players ask most. Can’t find yours? Ask us in Discord.
How do I join Haven SMP?
Haven is whitelisted. Join our Discord server and submit a whitelist application. Staff review every application, and once yours is accepted you’ll be added to the whitelist and can connect to the server.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Haven is an 18+ community, and you’ll be asked to state your age as part of your whitelist application.
Why is Haven 18+?
Haven is built for adults who want a relaxed, long-term world without the drama. Keeping the server 18+ means the chat, humour and community are set for adults, and it helps us keep Haven close-knit. Every applicant confirms they are 18 or over when they apply, and anyone found to be under 18 will be removed in line with our Terms of Service.
Can Bedrock players join?
No. Haven supports Minecraft: Java Edition only. Bedrock Edition is not supported.
Is Haven SMP actually vanilla?
Yes — gameplay is vanilla survival. We run a small number of server plugins for things like proximity voice chat and cosmetic rank features, but none of them change how survival plays.
Is Haven pay-to-win?
No. Ranks and tags are cosmetic only — things like name effects, chat effects and Discord roles. They don’t give any gameplay advantage, and every purchase goes towards running and improving the server.
How fast do I get my rank?
Ranks are applied automatically within a few minutes of a successful payment. If you're offline, it will apply the next time you join.
Can I upgrade my rank later?
Yes. Purchasing a higher rank will apply on top of your existing one — contact support if anything looks off.
What payment methods are accepted?
All checkouts are processed securely through Tebex, supporting card, PayPal and more.
Do I get rewards for voting?
Yes. Every vote earns you 1 vote point. Save your points and spend them in the in-game points shop on voter-only cosmetics, such as join sounds, chat and name effects, trails and the Top Voter tag. See the full list on the vote page.
Is there a live map?
Yes. The live map shows the Overworld inside the world border and where online players are, updated every few seconds. Players in spectator mode or with invisibility are not shown. Only explored land appears, so new areas fill in as people travel.
Where is the server hosted?
In the UK, so ping is low for players across the UK and Europe. The server runs with 99.9% uptime.
How long does approval take?
Staff usually reply within 3 hours. Once you’re approved, you’re whitelisted on both our Discord and the Minecraft server.
How quickly do staff respond to tickets?
Staff usually respond to tickets in under 6 hours. Open a ticket in our Discord server.
What’s the code I see the first time I join?
Haven links your Minecraft account to Discord. Send the code to the Haven bot on Discord, confirm, then join again. The join guide shows the screen you’ll see.
Do I need the modpack?
No. The modpack is completely optional, and a vanilla Minecraft: Java Edition 26.1.2 client connects just fine.
